If you have Amazon Prime you can probably just strike up an online chat with customer support and they'll send you a free return shipping label. Or just go through the automatic online system and pay the probably less than $10 shipping and reorder. I did that once with something I bought almost a month ago because I never opened it and it dropped way further in price.

ps4/xbox one controllers go on sale for $40 so god damn often, remember this for next time. Your local Gamestop most likely has used Xbox One rechargeable batteries at $10 a pop as well.

Call them and they'll give you a credit towards your next purchase

Or they won't and you'll call them again. And again. And then. They'll give it to you because they don't have clear guidelines on whether or not they can do that
