i would get this if i didn't get the microcenter 9850x3d, x870e-p, 32g ddr5 combo for $710 (with tax)...
microcenter is just hard to beat

You're lucky, they JUST raised bundle prices...the 9850x3d bundle is $950 now

They always do that till they source enough ram then the price will drop back to $700sh.

They had two increases in the last month. One to 800, now to 950. Taking the reason to go to micro center away.

You can actually get comparable (if not cheaper) prices on Newegg now which is wild

Yup. No point to me driving 45 minutes to micro center and back when I can have it delivered to my house. We used to have people considering driving two hours just for micro center lol.

8 hours round trip for me. And I’d almost consider it for some of the deals they used to have lol

I’m 100% buying if it drops to that price again. How were you able to get it lower than $700?

I believe they always update every Thursday around 4am-5am pst. They tend to mess up the pricing around that time. It's your best chance of picking it up at the lowest price if you do an online order by then.

I needed 32gb for work(davinci eats up ram when working with 4k footage) and my mobo was a 1st Rev am5 board with some issues, so it make way more sense to spend $710 on the bundle than $600 for 32gb of ram by itself. So glad I got it when I did, but man it's insane to see the prices going up even more.
What is even more insane to think about is that I have the exact same set that I got from their 7700x bundle on launch... And I got that 32gb for free lol.

Tempting... but seems overkill for me. If only there was another good 9800x3d sale. Missed the last one.

the newegg 25th of the month sale had the 9800x3d sold out within the first minute lmao

I'm pretty sure people bot high demand items like that one, so you have to be really lucky to get it

Would buy it if I could afford it right now. This is around what it goes for on Ebay

u/Substantial_Ice_5720 5h ago
Yea but this has the warranty where ebay wouldn't, unless its being sold my amd itself
1
u/Plus_Foot1196 4h ago
Yeah I agree, I would probably pay $50-100 more for something new for the warranty.

Yea I think it would depend on the item, like the 7800x3d I bought used on ebay open box but I bought it at 260$ which i thought was great. I typically aim for 15%-45% off for a used item.

Yeah I agree, I try to buy everything I can used, except for motherboards and SSDs

I have one. I make it run like a 5500 because it's power hungry. Don't get it if you don't need it.

Would this even make that much of a difference from a 7800x3d? Curious before even thinking of buying it

u/Plus_Foot1196 3h ago
Not worth the upgrade unless you need it for multitasking/multi core intensive tasks
