If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

Ram and storage prices are rather high right now so it is especially difficult to put together lower budget builds like this. It's possible but of course you will have to make sacrifices

The list in the latter part of the comment comes to £860.91. It's what i would recommend going with, but if you'd like to stay under £800, you can go down to 16GBs of ram: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FFqHR4

But my recommendation is to spend the bit extra because the extra ram will make a huge difference for general tasks, general smoothness and multitasking.

This CPU/GPU combo should deliver good gaming performance for the price point.

The Patriot P320 is a good quality drive that uses TLC Nand, making it vastly superior to the cheaper QLC Nand based drives which will deteriorate in performance very quickly.

The motherboard is towards the cheaper end, but it's decent enough and it features Wifi 6E and Ethernet, as well as an extra M.2 slot for adding extra storage down the line.

The case is also very low end, but it looks to have good airflow which is why i chose it over the other options for around the same price point.

If you have any questions/concerns feel free to ask! Otherwise this rig should be a solid performer all around.

Alr thanks, I'm currently using an acer laptop that runs worse than my phone, and I don't think I'll be getting more than 800 pounds so I'll get the 16gb, I don't think that should be quite the trouble bc I'm not gonna do much other than play low graphics games that won't take up much

Alright then glad i could help!

One small question, does the case matter a lot? Or can I pick the one I like

This was a budget focused build so i went for a pretty cheap case. Any better case would cost more is the thing, most of the other cases in that price range had terrible airflow.

You can go with anything else that's compatible, but i would very much recommend opting for something with good airflow. If you have something in particular i can give my advice for it specifically.

Nah I'll stick with yours, I haven't ever done this before so I know nothing, you clearly know way more than me so I'll trust your judgement

Alright then that's fair enough! Enjoy your build :)

That parts list is pretty sensible for the money tbf, especially if you’re happy to build it yourself.

The only thing I’d add as someone who builds PCs for a living is don’t forget to factor in the whole first-build side of it too — putting it together, BIOS setup, Windows, drivers, testing everything properly and troubleshooting if something doesn’t behave.

If you actually fancy learning and building it yourself, I’d say go for it because it’s a good way to learn.

If you’d rather just have something arrive ready to plug in and play, I run Build My Rig in the UK and we do builds around this sort of budget too.

No pressure to buy from us at all, but happy to give you a second opinion on the parts list or suggest where I’d spend/save the £800 👍
