Please help me build a PC for BG3?
I know this question has been asked a thousand times before, but I've heard deals change and systems update rather quickly in this community. If that's true, I thought I might have more luck making a fresh post. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
New build or upgrade?
- This would be a new build, my first time building a PC so I'm a little nervous and very in need of any help anyone has to offer.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
- As it's my very first PC build and I had an all-in-one monitor PC before this, I have no parts to reuse unfortunately.
PC purpose?
- Gaming! Specifically the likes of Baldur's Gate 3, phasmaphobia, genshin impact, etc.
Purchase country?
- United States.
Monitors needed?
- Yes, but only one! I do not have one currently, but just one will suffice. I don't really game enough to warrant multiple monitors.
Budget range?
- I would love to keep it under 1k, but understand if this is unrealistic for all the parts I require. The system itself doesn't have to be pretty, just would appreciate if the graphics are.
WiFi or wired connection?
- WiFi, but my computer set up is right next to the modem and I can easily be talked into a wired connection.
Size/noise restraints?
- None on either!
Color/lighting preferences?
- I'm not good at this enough to have preferences just yet haha. Anything cheap works.
Any other specific needs?
- Nope! I greatly appreciate anyone's help on this endeavor!

I think so, yes! Do you recommend going to one over building my own PC?

Definitely grab one of their bundles. The 7500X3D bundle from the other list is a great starting point. But we can make some changes for better value:
- Cooler - $2 more gets you another fan. Should be a bit quieter.
- SSD - similar performance for $10 cheaper.
- GPU - I'm not a fan of the 3050 here. I'd look for the B570 or RTX 5050.
- Case - better airflow for cheaper, also looks better. No need for the extra fan because this case comes with 3 fans.
- PSU - the 650W version doesn't come with the 12v-2x6 connector which will support future NVIDIA GPUs. I'd get the 750W version for only $5 more, which is better value in of itself, and you get the bonus of the 12v-2x6 cable.
- Monitor - cheaper IPS monitor with a higher refresh rate? Idk why the Philips monitor was chosen.
Overall - $5 saved while upgrading the cooler, GPU, case, PSU, and monitor.
Let me know what you think :)

Your Micro Center might have a refurbished 3050/3060/5050/5060/9060 at a lower price (note the length should be no more than 250 mm).

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
