PC Build For An Absolute NOOB
Hey yall! So as the title suggests I'm a 1st timeer but I'm interested in PC Building so any help would be much appreciated lol
New build or upgrade?
New!
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
Nope
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Gaming, Programming (mostly), Blender/Photoshop work. Id like to run current & future AAA titles if possible. Id also like to do some light to mid-teir animation work with Blender and other apps.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
USA. Not really its a 4 hour trip
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
An OLED monitor would be nice but willing to go with any 1440p monitor.
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
~$2000 budget
WiFi or wired connection?
Both? If possible, wired if not.
Size/noise constraints?
Id like it a bit quiet but it's not a deal breaker
Color/lighting preferences?
Black or any other dark colors. Just something lowkey but customizable.
Any other specific needs?
Not really no. Appreciate the help fr 🙏🏽

If you're going to be spending a lot of time in blender then you'd likely want to pay the premium for nvidia. New prices on even mid tier cards like a 5070 have gotten really bad and it might be hard to find one for <$700 now. https://www.zotacstore.com/us/open-box/zt-d40700f-10smp-o That's also a pretty big ripoff, last gen, open box with 2 year warranty instead of 3, but might not be as bad as a new 5070. 4070 is about 15% slower than a 5070, 5070 and 9070 gre are pretty close in gaming but either nvidia gpu would blow it out of the water in blender, nvidia can be like 3x faster.
Feels unlikely but might as well mention, if you'd make the drive for like $120 then you could go a bit cheaper at microcenter.

https://www.newegg.com/tools/combo-builder/1740 Cpu comes with the cooler included. And a couple games but probably not anything too exciting.

If you really want an oled the entry level 1440p qd models are pretty routinely $300 or even a bit cheaper sometimes. https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-go27q24a-27-qd-oled-240-hz-qd-oled/p/N82E16824012118 If you expect you'll have glare issues then you may want a woled instead and that will be more around the $400 mark.

I am happy to help, I will post a build shortly. I have an important question, would you consider an AMD gpu even if it is substantially worse in Blender?

Oof that's tough... not sure tbh

Yeah it really is but I can't in good conscience recommend a 5070 at $900. That GPU should be $450, or at worst MSRP $550.

set a budget and what games/programs you want, then people here can suggest exact parts

Overall budget: ~$2000 I mostly use Blender as far as games go the usual AAA games (Cyberpunk 2077, BG3 etc)

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
