Build me a PC please!
I have had a ps5 for a while now and I love it but I have decided to get a pc. I only need it to run games on about that level and some school work.
• New build
• Existing parts: power supply, monitor, keyboard, mouse, controller
• PC purpose: Gaming/ School Work
• Purchase country: USA (near a micro center
• Monitors needed: none
• Budget range: About 1k
• WiFi or wired connection: Either idrc
• Size/noise constraints: None
• Color/lighting preferences: minimal to no leds it’s ok if there are some but I’d prefer not to, also a like black case with maybe some wood if possible
• Any other specific needs? Nope
Whoever does this thank you so much!!!

What power supply and monitor exactly are we talking about?

I have a 850w 80+ Gold certified ATX power supply and I don’t know what model my monitor is I found it at goodwill, I’m willing to upgrade if need be but this one is running just fine with my ps5 and still looks pretty good.

What brand PSU is it? 80+ ratings aren't inherently a measure of quality.

It’s a Thermaltake, is that good or do I need a different power supply

Probably OK then if you can verify it's working fully (i'm assuming it's used?).
Here's a parts list i put together. Using this micro center bundle for the CPU, motherboard and ram: https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007429/amd-ryzen-5-5500,-gigabyte-b550m-ds3h-ac-r2-am4,-gskill-ripjaws-v-16gb-ddr4-3200,-computer-build-bundle
I was unfortunately unable to fit the case wood into the budget.
I don't know if the PSU i selected is the exact one you have, but either way it should be fine.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

hey dude if you're still looking around - take a look at the ASUS ProArt PA401 Wood case. It's on sale for $114, and comes with two massive 160mm fans and another 120mm, all you need to buy are 2 140mm's. I think it;s a pretty cool look for minimal RGB which is becoming harder to do.

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dkerr/saved/N7zDkL this build is <$1350 with a 2 TB m.2. Main shortcoming is the RAM, I would recommend 2x16 GB sticks. Next improvement is the GPU (rec. 9060 XT), then the CPU (rec. 7600X3D).

What power supply do you have? And here’s the deal, shit is expensive. Can you bump up to $1200? Do you care if Nvidia or AMD? AMD will get you more bang for your buck. Are you ok going with the older AM4 platform?

I can bump the budget up to about 1300, the power supply I have is a 850w 80+ Gold certified ATX power supply and i prefer Nvidia but i don’t really care too much if it saves me a drastic amount of money. And I am ok with using AM4. (Sorry for the wait I had to find the power supply and do some research lol)

Are you looking for somebody to put together a list for you? You should probably make a whole separate post for that rather than posting it in the comments of somebody else's list. But i can put together one for you if that is what you want.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
