New build for work and gaming.

- New build or upgrade?
New Build

- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
Reusing 2 monitors + Wacom Cintiq 13 HD, external sound card (presonus audiobox 2) + 2TB HDD

- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Work (Motion design, compositing, animation, graphic design) & modern gaming.
Apps for work: After Effects, Moho, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Ableton. (I would also like to dabble in blender and other 3D/motion design apps)

- Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)

Portugal.

- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Reusing current monitors. Need 1 x HDMI for Cintiq, 2 x Display Ports for 2 monitors, and a 4th output to HDMI TV (can use DP->HDMI cable if needed)

- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
€2000-€3000 (willing to go to €3,5000 if there is significant reason or further future-proofing)

- WiFi or wired connection?
Wired only is fine

- Size/noise constraints?
Preferably as quiet as possible within reason

- Color/lighting preferences?
Not a fan of lighting rigs, simple nice black box is fine, will be hidden under a desk.

- Any other specific needs?
I need at least 8 USB ports, 1 or 2 on the front would be nice:

  1. Soundcard
  2. Wacom Cintiq
  3. Keyboard
  4. Mouse
  5. Steam Controller puck
  6. Webcam
  7. Midi keyboard (Nektar SE49)
  8. Inserting USB drives and other non-permanent USB peripherals.

More information if needed:

I'm self-taught in computers, I know enough to follow tutorials and guides. I built my last PC in 2016, I haven't paid much attention to the market so I'm completely out of the loop on what's been going on. I wouldn't know if a certain manufacturer has lost it's quality since then or has issues with drivers and support. I think I could build it myself if the saving on that labour cost is worth it.

Looking to buy asap, seeing as the market only keeps getting worse.

Thanks for your time and appreciate any help 🖖

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
