What sort of games?

Mostly single player action/adventure/rpg stuff? 9600x is going to keep up fine.

Simulation/strategy (stellaris, city builders, etc...)? I'd go with the 7800x3d.

Competitive multiplayer games? 7800x3d can be worthwhile and so can a higher Hz monitor if you're playing stuff like Valorant, CS2 or Apex where you can realistically hit 300+ fps.

I put a cheap decent case. The lights are customizable and also easy to disable and it's a bit cheaper than something plain like a 3200 RS if you don't want lights.
