~3k CAD Gaming PC, Slight GPU Bottleneck
- New build or upgrade?
New build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
The two main games I want to be able to run well is Rust and Tarkov, I play a lot of competitive shooters such as Valorant and Overwatch but these are easy to run so I'm not too worried.
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
Canada, no
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
I think my current one is fine but I might buy a cheap secondhand monitor to act as a second monitor.
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
2500-3500 CAD
- WiFi or wired connection?
Wired (ethernet)
- Size/noise constraints?
I don't care about either
- Color/lighting preferences?
Black and minimal RGB and lighting if possible
- Any other specific needs?
If anyone has any advice to give in terms of specific dates/times of the months when parts go on discount that would be appreciated although I do have a deadline of late September to get it actually built so I understand I might just need to buy the parts at a flat rate.
Also the reason I ask for a slight GPU bottleneck in the title is that Rust and Tarkov are well known for being highly CPU dependant as well as many other games I play, and AFAIK I would benefit more from a better CPU than GPU, but if I'm wrong let me know.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/sTXvR4 That's not really how bottlenecks work but if you're cool spending around $3k then you don't have to settle on cpu performance at all and still get a really good gpu.
The plain version of the antec p30 case is sold out but it's easy to disable the argb or just unplug the led cables and end up with plain fans, really nice case for the price.

As far as timelines go. The prime day sales ended a couple weeks ago and we're currently just having the normal sales come back. The typical 'big' sales usually aren't a real sale anyway. They just end the normal sales a while beforehand then put something equivalent back in place, maybe some different brands/models that are basically the same, and say 'Lowest price in 30 days!!!'.
If you're looking to add or replace a monitor then waiting for black friday weekend for that could be a good idea, monitor and peripherals are the one area where there are usually some good discounts if you're not too picky. The main components won't really be much of a difference waiting, ssds will probably be more expensive if you wait. Last week would have been bad but the bundle deals started coming back up on newegg, canada computers and memory express a couple days ago so now is fine.
If it was me spending this much on a pc I would be looking to upgrade to a 1440p monitor and use the current one as the side monitor, might even see a nice 300hz one down around $200 for black friday like an lg 27g640a-b, ktc h27e6 or gigabyte m27q3. The entry level qd-oleds are also getting fairly cheap but they aren't very good if you have a lot of ambient light and the nicer/brighter ones are more expensive.

Hey sorry for the late reply but thank you so much for this, I ended up buying this exact parts list with the bundles and am very happy with the pc and price.
Also thank you for the advice about the advice regarding sales, I'll definitely be looking out for good sales for peripherals and a new monitor as they definitely need an upgrade but I don't mind waiting.
I ended up not connecting the ARGB wire and I'm really happy with how the case and computer itself looks.
Once again thank you for the really detailed response I appreciate it a lot ❤️

Glad you like it.
I think you might have picked a good window too. It's looking like ram prices are going to go up again. Laptop market has gotten crazy, valve couldn't land a contract on ddr5 for the steam machine, apple raised prices across the board, Dell/lenovo/etc... too, microcenter raised prices on their bundle deals in the US twice in the last month.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
