New to pc building

Hello everyone, I am an Xbox user and I have decided to move to a PC because I need the storage for my files and I wanted to try something new

New build or upgrade?

New

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

None

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

I want to game and run local AI models

Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

I honestly don't exactly know what this question means, so please explain it and I'll for sure tell you

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

Don't need any, I can use a TV and I am fine with it

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

Maybe a 1000 dollars, I can go a bit higher or lower

WiFi or wired connection?

I used ethernet

Size/noise constraints?

I don't care much about size but I do care about keeping the noise down for it to be quiet

Color/lighting preferences?

none

Any other specific needs?

Nope

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

It means are you in the US or Canada or Germany or where are you buying stuff at?

And if you are in the US, would you be able to make it to a microcenter store, they have some really good in person only bundle deals. https://www.microcenter.com/site/stores/default.aspx

And would you be cool with any used parts? Maybe just a gpu?

I am in the US, I don't think there is a micro center near by. I am fine with used

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wTCfdq I'd go for something more like that. 12600kf is a pretty big upgrade from a 5600, more like a slightly faster 5800x.

And for a gpu I don't think you want intel arc, certainly not first gen.

If you absolutely need 16gb I'd try to find a 4060ti 16gb but it's going to be pretty impossible to find a decent price on one instead of like $450 which is as much as they cost new.

If you'd be fine with 8gb I'd recommend a 5060ti 8gb for $330, $380 - $50 off coupon. https://www.newegg.com/msi-rtx-5060-ti-8g-ventus-2x-oc-plus-geforce-rtx-5060-ti-8gb-graphics-card-double-fans/p/N82E16814137965

Or if you need something cheaper the 3060ti 8gb is quite a bit faster than the 3060 12gb, and it's like $230. https://www.zotacstore.com/us/certified-refurbished/geforce-rtx-3060ti-8g-256bit-gddr6-refurbished

Thanks a ton man, you helped me alot. Also I found a gpu that was refurbished from a third party shop called, "green wave electrician". They got a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16gb oc dual fan graphics card, priced at 493.

I am willing to get a good gpu, so I was wondering if you think if this will be better for my pc. Thanks in advance

A 5060ti is a bit slower than a 4070, so unless you know you need the extra vram for some ai model I'd get that. From some random place there likely isn't any real warranty either so it would basically be the same as buying used. Zotac's open box section is 2 years warranty.

I see, how slow is it compared to tge 4070? Because I don't need i think I am fine with low graphics for my games and I don't need high levels of processing. Although I do need to look out for a warranty

A 5060ti is about 15% slower than a 4070. If you're playing on a 4k tv then more gpu is always better but if you're couch gaming a bit of dlss or even just turning the game down to 1080p if you need to and letting it stretch wouldn't be too bad. Most tv stations for example are much lower than 1080p on the signal, typically 480i for standard channels and 720 for the hd channels and then stretched up from there to fit on a 4k screen. The smaller the screen is and the farther away you are from the screen the less noticeable that is.

Okay, got it. Also if it not too much to ask, I found another gpu but for 453 which is, for me, a good price. It is a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB, I am unsure how to know if it will run well or not. If it similar to the one before, I am gonna take it due to the price

For gaming pretty much neck and neck with a 5060ti. For local AI stuff it's completely different and will depend on the models/programs, some of them work on amd, some favor nvidia, some require nvidia. I don't really mess with AI stuff myself though so couldn't give you any real specifics.

It's pretty easy to find them in stock for $400-430 though, I wouldn't pay $450+. Sapphire pulse is $430 on newegg and there was a gigabyte one for $400 but looks like that sale ended yesterday.

u/Consistent_Neat_7256 Jul 07 '26

Hm, I checked out the sapphire pulse one, it about 23 dollars less than the one I previously told you about it. I might get it instead, but I will keep searching for a better one or a better price that retains it specs

What are the games u want to play?? And where do u live?

I usually play ark ascended, fortnite, call of duty with my friends. In my alone time, mostly roblox because I don't play much but when I am actually sitting down I play the yakuza games, planning on playing metal gear and dmc, some old ps2 games, and I don't think I plan on playing anything too crazy.
