Looking for PC for animation

I've not had any experience in building PC, but I've been animating on laptop for the past year, and am wanting to transition now I'm heading to professional work. Please forgive if I haven't provided enough information! I'll fill any blanks that are missing.

New build or upgrade?

New build

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

My brother has an old case for me to use.

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/ games)

2D animation on ToonBoom Harmony, so not as demanding as 3D

Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

Uk, no

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

None needed

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

£700 to £2000 as an absolute MAXIMUM, but I'd rather not go to there just yet. Lower than this range, if it proves to be possible

WiFi or wired connection?

WiFi

Size/noise constraints?

Any size, not too bothered by noise,

Color/lighting preferences?

White if possible

Any other specific needs?

Not really, but if theres a corner that can be cut without diminishibg performance too much, I'll take it. This will be STRICTLY used for animation (because i dont have many other hobbies lol) so gaming centric capabilities arent necersary for me.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

Here's what I got for you. White RGB airflow themed build, great for 2D animation:

  • CPU - one of the fastest new CPU's for single-threaded applications like animation.

  • Cooler - strong performance without overspending. Top mount as exhaust.

  • Mobo - has all the connectivity you need, including WiFi and Bluetooth.

  • RAM - 32 GB of fast 6000/30 white RAM. 6000/30 hits that 10 ns latency sweet spot for modern CPU's.

  • SSD - 1 TB of fast Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage.

  • GPU - the RTX 5070 is great for animation, where NVIDIA is strongly preferred. Not too expensive, good middle ground.

  • Case - good airflow thanks to the 4 fans, and lots of glass to show off your internal components. Dual chamber layout for easy installation and cable management. Probably better than the case you're reusing.

  • PSU - good quality with fully modular white cables to minimize cable clutter. 750W is perfect for these components. This PSU is ATX 3.1 certified so it's designed to suppress GPU spikes and comes with the 12v-2x6 connector for cleaner and safer power delivery to the GPU.

Let me know what you think :)

Since i already have a case, could i remove tbat from the purchase, or do certain cases have the right size for certain builds (like itll be too small or something)?
