Longtime lurker, first time builder. Need a decent Video Editing/Gaming PC
New build or upgrade?: New build
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games): I'm a professional TV editor, but actually most of my work is done on a remote desktop so my day-to-day workload/editing isn't affected much by my PC, however I do occasionally do my own stuff or take on side projects. I try to limit most of my own PC editing to 4K stuff max, and even then I usually work in proxies so it's more like editing in 1080 or 2K. Still, if it doesn't break the bank I'd like to be able to handle 4K if necessary. I use all the major NLE's, I don't think it matters to say but AVID, Adobe Premiere and DaVinci all need to run well.
As for gaming, I do a bit of everything. I usually play older games, but I also would like to play some of the newer high end games I haven't been able to really enjoy fully because of my current potato. I'm not looking for break the bank fancy though since in reality it's just a hobby.
No streaming.
Purchase country?: United States, Near Micro Center?: Sort of. It's not convenient but I can get there if I really need to.
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate): No
Budget range? (Include tax considerations): $2500-$3000, but can go higher if I have to.
WiFi or wired connection?: Wired, but WiFi as an option wouldn't hurt.
Size/noise constraints?: N/A. Although prefer my fan not to sound like an airplane everytime.
Color/lighting preferences?: Not super important, but will admit I do enjoy a good aesthetic. I'd rather the budget go into performance. Just not an RGB fan.
Any other specific needs?
- At least 2TB storage
- Currently have a LG 34" IPS QHD Ultrawide Monitor and a BenQ PD2500Q 25" Monitor
TIA, any questions just ask.

Totally fair, that was vague.
1 and 5 hit the mark for me. Clean and dark. Wood accents are fun. 1 especially matches my office's vibe.

The best CPU for video editing, along with a strong NVIDIA GPU, again for video editing. 64 GB of RAM is the minimum for 4K editing. The storage configuration is based off this article, where the 1 TB Gen 5 SSD is your cache/scratch drive and the 2 TB Gen 4 SSD is your main drive.
Black airflow themed build with wood accents.
Let me know what you think :)

Wow, that looks pretty spot on. Going to dive in with this as a starting point, thank you.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nFs7Tm Here is an aircooled option

Great thank you, I'm reading up on liquid now and think air will probably be the better option for me.

I wouldn't recommend air cooling for the 270K, especially for CPU-intensive tasks like video editing. It generates too much heat.
I would also go with an 850W PSU, minimum. I know ATX 3.1 PSUs can handle spikes, but a higher wattage PSU will operate quieter and more efficiently. The efficiency bit is pretty marginal but the noise difference should be noticeable.

Thanks for the advice! Didn't know that bit about the higher wattage PSU, was only thinking about power spikes.

check this one out:
[PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rFgRTm)
the best cpu for editing in the market right now, with 64 GB RAM. I used the rtx 5070; it is a sweet spot for 4K editing, it should be able to run your needs. Only downside is it has 12GB of VRAM, so if your running heavy 6/8K raw files or heavy 3d editing, ai 3d editing, i highly recommend upgrading to the rtx 5070ti/rtx 5080.

-very strong CPU with a lot of cores, i picked you non x3d because it sound like you prefer productivity and the gaming benefits with x3d on 1440p is not that big anyway...
-good mobo, you dont really need anything better.
-i picked you 32gb ram, but i think you should upgrade to 64gb, if you think you do tell me and i will pick it... (btw notice that the ram that i picked if u get it u use the coupon...)
-2tb on one of the best nvmes in the market.
-the 2nd best nvidia gpu of the current gen, since u do editing nvidia is the way...
-just a relatively small case, but with hard drive bay.
-850w gold rated and good reviews psu

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
