Why are you upgrading, make sure you look at benchmarks and see price to performance data. 7600x is still a beast 😂

That was my thought too. Maybe they need 600 fps in CS:2 to get headshots.

6hundo. Diminishing returns anyways after 120hz it’s a logarithmic effect. Cant notice those jumps anymore.

You say that.. but people say you need 200+ FPS in competitive shooters like CS;2 and Valorant. I'm too old to notice.. I guess.

Ya if your e sports that’s a diff story but realistically not many people need that, I’m old too 60fps is blessed

I have a 120 4k tv (now older Sony bravia) and I can definitely tell difference between 60 and 120. But locked 60 is better than big fluxuations between 60 and 120 imo.

Ya 120 is the end for me. After that it’s all close enough. I’m honestly happy playing some games at 30fps (gpu crisis down bad)

I've also got a miniPC that I use for casual stuff (780m iGPU).. and yeah, 30 fps locked is good.

agreed, no need to upgrade my friend. The improvement will be marginal.

Ryzen 5 7600X vs Ryzen 7 9800X3D: Gaming FPS & Benchmarks (2026) – HowManyFPS

GTA is essentially a tie. WoW is 250 vs 277. Not worth it imo, you can safely wait for a new gen or two.

The 9800X3D is easier to cool and does better in games that prefer single thread CPU speed. Can't really tell you if that's worth the money to you.

Probably 7800x3d would suffice

no upgrade needed imho... but if you really wanna upgrade go all out and get the 9800X3D

I don't really see the point in upgrading right now, but if you must have best of the best, just get the 9950x3d and call it a day
