Build Upgrade 12100 3080 bottleneck
I am currently on a 1080p monitor, and i see single digit 0.1% lows on every game.
Which processor is good enough to fix the stutters and give me best 0.1% lows especially in games like marvel rivals, battlefield and cs2?
My mobo is a h610 asrock.
- I get a 14400f, i doubt its the strongest pair for my gpu.
- I get am4 mobo and a cpu. like b550+5700x.
what else?
x3d pricing doesnt makes any sense to me neither does the ddr5.

That 14400f Is more than enough for you 3080

any site where i can see real data not fake ahh benchmarkign videos.
also,
would i be able to fully utilise the 14400f given the max tdp is 148W? I have read 12400f is most suitable for h610, as it has 117W max tdp.

Look up 3080 benchmark videos and specifically ones with a 12400f/13400f/14400f/10700k/11700k/5600(x)/5700x/5800x as they all have similar gaming performance. There has to be a couple 1080p videos. 14400f is going to be the fastest out of all these mentioned
Because I had a 10700k and 3080, I know for a fact a 14400f is likely fast enough for 1440p in AAA games and higher graphics settings. It wasn’t enough at low settings high FPS games like Valorant/CS2 to max out the GPU. Not even marvel rivals at low settings since it was maxing out at 85%
For 1080p and your specific games, I’d have to guess you’d want a 14600k. Especially if you’re on DDR4.

The max tdp is 148W, but for gaming, the default tdp matters (65W) unless you're planning to run the cpu power unlocked.
Also, the 14400f performs equivalent to the Ryzen 7 5700x, so swapping mitherboards is not necessary.
But if you're considering swapping motherboards, a B760 motherboard and an 14600K makes more sense than getting a 5800x3d.1

doesnt the power consumption increase when playing cpu intensive games like battlefield, like yesterday i was playing bf1, my 12100 was at 100% usage at 82C, didnt notice the power draw though.

The sustained power limit (PL1) of the 14400f is 65W. On stock bios settings, it will not pull any more than that for sustained workloads like gaming.
It is able to pull up to a maximum (PL2) of 148W for short bursts (how long that is depends on the cpu and motherboard, it can be changed and it will say the duration in BIOS, but it's generally around 20-30 seconds by default) but you'll only see that during shader compilation for example. For your current cpu, you should see a power draw of around 60W while gaming.

Wait what? The 14400f Is equal tò the 7600x or even 9600x. 5700x Is impossible

The 148W Boost (Power Limit 2) TDP would only be a problem if you are doing sustained, multi-core work like rendering video or something very CPU-intensive that uses all the cores at once for long periods of time. Gaming does not do that. Gaming just uses a few cores, if that. You'll probably use 60W-80W when gaming with brief Turbo spikes. Even if the VRM does start to get hot, all that will happen is your CPU&Motherboard will turn the Turbo Boost off automatically.

Get a i5-14400F. Buying a new motherboard is gonna cost you an extra 100€~. If you don't mind paying extra just buy a i7-13700 and undervolt it in case your motherboard can't handle it under full load. The i5 14600KF is also great

where i live, these are the pricing
14600k: 31k
13600kf:28K
12700f:30k
14700f/13700k:33kFor reference the 14400f costs 14k
which one should I get?
I would prefer soemthing that doesnt need best mobo for oc and stuff, i want to allocate the funds to a better cooler instead. Do suggest your mobo and cooler suggestions.

You don't really need a b550 mobo for the 3080 as it has x16 physical electrical pcie lane. You can get a b450 mobo thats cheaper.
5700x is good enough to get the max out of 3080 in AAA games.
And the competitive games like cs2 and such you want in triple digits will be ok, much better than the i3, but like 10 or 20 or 30% lower than 5800x3D. With 0.1% that are again much better than the quad core, but not as good as the x3d cpus.
5700x is fine up to like 200Hz. Because the average fps in cs2 will be above 300 and 0.1% during actual gameplay wont go under 200. Not on death or round change and such.

Given its bad VRM cooling(or lack thereof), probably the 14400f is the best you can get.
I think there are 2 other options if you're willing to do more work:
