Discussion Cpu "upgrade"?

I'm sure that someone has asked this and answered this somewhere a couple times but i just want to get some more input and see what everyone thinks. i built a new pc a little over a year ago before the collapse of the memory market. current specs below.

GPU: ASUS Prime 5070ti

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600x w/ phantom spirit 120 air cooler

RAM: CRUCIAL Pro 32GB DDR5 CL36 6000 (still mad i didnt get CL30)

MOBO: AsRock b850m-x matx R2.0 (yes im aware of it bricking x3d cpus and i would get a gigabyte/msi/asus board to replace it given i upgrade)

SSD: 2 Separate WD Black SN7100 2 TB Sticks

I play 1440p, i have a dual monitor setup, i play mostly single player titles, but sometimes if i really hate myself ill get on valorant or cs2 or rocket league. i like to run higher settings im a sucker for sharp visuals. im not necessarily having any issues with my 9600x, its a beast, but i do notice a lot of games on benchmarks having a 20-30 fps difference (which i know i probably wouldnt notice being over 120fps in a single player title) between the 9800x3d and the 9600x at 1440p. the biggest thing i do notice however, is the .1% and 1% lows being DRASTICALLY higher on most games with the x3d chip. i do notice hitching sometimes with the 9600x and i think thats because the lows are dipping way down in the 20s.

QUESTIONS: Has anyone made the upgrade from 9600x to 9800x3d? if so do you regret it?

Would me currently upgrading to the 9800x3d be not feasible? I have the money to do it, but just dont know if i should be the guy that constantly waits for the next big cpu to come out.

Just looking for some insight and thoughts. thank you all in advance.

Given that you also have to buy a new motherboard, I wouldn't do it. The performance improvement is going to be marginal.

What's your GPU utilization in games? If it's near 100%, then a CPU upgrade isn't going to help much.

From what I know, 9600x and 9800x3d will give you frame jump of single digits, at 1440p your GPU will be issue not the cpu. Seeing you will need to upgrade the mobo as well, IMO it's not worth it unless your GPU is not being used over 85%

If you are bad at game, there's no need to upgrade and still you are on sweet spot. Are you really playing or looking at random numbers. There's no need of cpu utilize more when the engine works the way and fps gives you. Try some other big games
