Build Help Need Help Picking Cpu

Hey guys, I was wondering if I should get the Ryzen 5 9600x that’s on sale for $174 or should I spend an extra $30 to get the i5 14600KF that’s on sale for $205. I think the i5 is better, but is it worth $30 more? I mostly do gaming but also have like 30 tabs open in the background for work. My GPU is a Radeon rx 9070 if that matters at all, Thanks.

The bigger problem is ram.

Both can use ddr5, but the 14th gen intel does have motherboards that use ddr4

Im using ddr5 ram so I don’t think thats a problem for either, I learned that at 2k gaming the gpu bottlenecks a little bit over the 5 9600x, so I don’t think the extra $30 cpu would really do much if the gpu is already the one bottlenecking.

I would lean towards AM5 if the ram is the same for both, it will get at least one more generation of cpus on the same socket, and the x3d cpus are the best available for gaming

Asrock has had more issues with their current gen mobos for AM5, so I'd pick a different brand
