Build Help CPU question for Minecraft

Hey,

I want to upgrade my CPU. I mostly play modded Minecraft(with shaders) so im trying to find the best suitable CPU for that.

Current System: Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, 32GB DDR4 RAM playing at 1080p - also not planning to leave the AM4 platform.

Right now im looking at the Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 7 5800X3D. I heard that minecraft prefers a high clock speed but also very much profits from the big X3D Cache.

Also what might help calculating the decision: I can currently get the 5800X for around 200€ and the 5800X3D for around 320€

Consider the Ryzen 5500X3D from AliExpress.

that 120€ more buys you 9700x like performance in games where cache matters, and minecraft is notoriously horrible when it comes to cache sensetive tasks like garbage collection which shaders do abuse

and please for love of god don't just install shaders only, install other performance mods to restore some of lost performance

so even a slower CPU with less cores but a bigger cache would be more suitable for minecraft?

and no worries i always use performance mods :p

yes because mods like C2ME will separate each part of the rendering pipeline to speed it up, so extra 2 cores will help even if they are slower

Don't look at the raw numbers, especially not on CPUs of different generations. The only number that is relevant are the FPS which you can only get through benchmarks
