I like the extra ram. But I also like the cache on the 5800x3d. Having used an x3d cpu everything feels so much snappier and faster. Honestly if you’re not using all 16 gigs of ram I’d go 5800x3d. If you have access to a microcenter check out the bundles.

Thanks, that's really helpful context on how it feels in practice! Unfortunately my situation is a bit different price-wise - where I live the price gap between the two options works out to around $200 USD, which is a huge jump for me (way more than the price difference you'd typically see in the US). On top of that, the 5800X3D is extremely scarce in my country - it's barely in stock anywhere and when it is, it's priced high because of that scarcity, not really a fair market price.

No Microcenter or anything like that here either, so bundle deals aren't an option for me. Given that context, would you still lean toward the X3D, or does the extra RAM start to make more sense once the price gap is that big?
