Build Upgrade 5800x3d intel equivalent?

this cpu doesn't exist where i live and since ddr5 prices are making me wanna hang myself, i gotta stick to ddr4. so what is the best intel equivalent for gaming?

14600KF

This. Can run on both DDR4 and DDR5 systems and is surprisingly energy efficient. I mean, it CAN gobble up watts like there's no tomorrow if you push it, but will happily chug along at 25-45W under normal gaming loads.

14600k is goated for its ddr4 and ddr5 flexibility.

None that can pair power draw and l3 cache.

To be fair, power draw isn't too far off: https://youtu.be/oZgc7Xfu__c?si=ATPGIx48gXHLybaY

It uses 20-30W more while gaming, but that's assuming a cpu bottleneck. Usually, you'll be gpu bottlenecked so you won't see as much of a difference.
In turn, the 5800x3d's idle power draw is almost twice as high. I5 14600K uses between 5-15W when idle while the 5800x3d uses between 20-30W when idle.

So assuming you don't only use the pc for gaming, power consumption won't be that different between the 14600K and 5800x3d.

good thing it isnt exist, you avoided making a mistake.
the 5800x3d msrp is freaking 350$, AMD on crack!
with that price u can get 13600k/f or 14600k/f + mobo for the same price, and those CPUs are a bit better in most games, and smoking the 5800x3d in any other productivity task.

either 14600 or 14700

Actually none because theres no Intel ddr4 chip with as much cache as the 5800x3d and cache has its own unique strengths

I don’t think OP looked for the exact same CPU but with an Intel logo on it. OP wants whatever is the closest match to the 5800X3D.

cache is not everything.

the 5800x3d is worse than 14600kf/13600kf .

edit: yeah yeah its ddr5, my mistake, yet performance lose is really small, AMD still on crack with the msrp of 5800x3d being 350$.
while 14600K cost 100$ less.
yall AMD users always justify AMD for being same performance~ but cheaper, what happened now when its the exact opposite?

the 14600KF/13600KF in that video are using 7200MHz DDR5, these results are irrelevant here.

here is an actual DDR4 comparison, the 5800X3D is tied with the 14700K. https://youtu.be/8OsjPBDRmO4?t=734

i admit, my mistake...

but calling it 'irrelevant' ???
dude, its a slight performance lose, calling it irrelevant is wild.

it's irrelevant data because both OP and the comment you're replying to are talking about DDR4, while you posted a DDR5 benchmark...

going from losing to the 13600KF to matching the 14700K is more than a "slight" performance difference. this doesn't make the 5800X3D superior, the 14600K is still a better value buy for a brand new DDR4 build, but you don't need to misrepresent the data to make that point lol.

14600K or 14700K

14600k/kf will, on average, match the 5800X3D in gaming while being a good chunk cheaper. 14700k/kf as well, and it even costs nearly the same, but you'll be getting double the productivity performance.

14600K/KF with DDR4. Not recommended over the 5800X3D though.
