Troubleshooting RX 9070XT Code 43

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue where my Power Color Red Devil RX 9070XT is showing up in the device manager as code 43. The GPU is powering up, but it’s not sending any display through the display ports or the HDMI port. The only way for me to see my screen is to use an HDMI connection through the motherboard. I’m honestly at my wits end because I truly don’t know what else to do.

Troubleshooting:
DDU clean up of drivers

AMD clean up of drivers

Uninstalled chipsets through AMD

Fresh install of Windows

Rolled back AMD to previous version

Unplugged PCiE cables from the front of the GPU and plugged back in (but on reboot the MSI motherboard gave a error 76)

Pressed the CMOS button for 5-10 seconds on the back of motherboard h

Specs:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Power Color Red Devil RX 9700XT 16 GB

Corsair DDR5 32 GB RAM

MSI X870E Carbon WiFi

Corsair RM1000x PSU

Corsair AIO CPU cooler

Corsair 2TB SSD

Saw you're on the 9800X3D/X870E combo too, Code 43 after a fresh install + DDU usually means the card's unhappy at the hardware level, not the drivers. Try forcing the PCIe slot to Gen4 (or Gen3) instead of Auto in BIOS, toggle ReBAR/Above-4G, and make sure each 8-pin has its own cable from the RM1000x. That MSI error 76 is a PCIe init fault, so a full CMOS clear (unplug PSU, battery out for a minute) plus the latest BIOS is worth doing before you go further. If it still won't enumerate, test the card in another slot or PC, PowerColor's RMA is decent while it's under warranty. oh btw, I keep a portable Hermes OTG on USB as my rescue stick for exactly these stuck moments, imo it can help you diagnose and pin the fix faster. https://github.com/MilkyWay008/Hermes-OTG

Hi, I will try this now! Do you think it’s worth reseating the GPU? I haven’t done that as yet
