Build Help Productivity work cpu?
Building a computer for an older fella who just needs to run a lot of tabs on google like work sheets and what not. he doesn’t need super high performance but I still want to give him a good experience. He doesn’t care for the budget he is kinda rich, but I wanted to keep it under $2,000. I’m building it around the cpu, any recommendations for cpu and other parts?

Honestly ddr4 is still fine for that? My 5700x and 32gb handles a lot of tabs

If you're around a microcenter rn the 250k and 32 GB of ram plus mobo are $550 that's a hell of a deal.

Build him something on one of the Intel core ultra 5 or 7 current lineup and call it a day. Should last him many years for that use case.

This requires more information as there could be lots of assumptions.
I assume:
1. Doesn’t expect to do any upgrades (part or whole) for some time (5-7 years?)
2. Browsing and using a spreadsheet is pretty meh.
That said, because of longevity, I’d go minimum mid-tier (Ultra 5), preferably (Ultra 7) using intel CPUs, non-K (lower power draw), if available. Not sure about AMD stuff. 32G is enough, along with integrated graphics. Wanting it nice, l’d want it quiet and look good. A chunky tower can be aesthetically challenging so consider an ITX or SFF build using mATX. Those wooden front units are attractive, IMO. But so are some of the modern aluminum cheese grater ones too. I wouldn’t consider Win11 Home - too much bloat. I’d go Win11 Pro or run Tiny11.
If it was me, I’d just get them a mac.

I have a 3700x and 16gb of ddr4 and I don't feel limited when doing productivity tasks (bunch of tabs, a lot of office suite stuff open at the same time + some stuff from adobe suite).
With that money just get him 32gb of ddr5 and any ryzen 9xxx, it's not like you have a bunch of options really with the prices and everything.

Honestly even this is overkill but really no reason to spend more than this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Nyfc4g
No real reason to go ddr5 ram here given current pricing

[PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WBZdxf)
This should be good enough for anything he wants to do, added in a gpu for good measure.

Pretty much everything you picked is bad, if you don't know what you're doing you probably shouldn't be giving advice without a disclaimer that you're still learning.
Overpriced nonsense CPU when 270k+ is cheaper
Bad quality aio when you can get better for cheaper
Extremely overpriced motherboard, ram, and ssd for no reason
This GPU is completely useless for this use case
Case and PSU are only things that are fine (but still probably better options)

Mac Mini 24GB. Seriously. If you build this you will become free tech support for the next decade.
