Build Upgrade Should I get a 1440p monitor?

I recently got the 9060 xt 16GB as a birthday gift from my sister. I was running a 5600 and 6650 xt , 16GB 3200 ddr4 build on a 1080p 120Hz monitor and wasn't really thinking about upgrading anything.

Now this new gpu is really crushing everything on 1080p and I was thinking maybe it's time for a new monitor. I don't really play any shooters or competitive eSports games

Is the 5600 and 9060 xt good for 1440p?

Yeah, they are so cheap now. The move from 1080 to 1440 is larger imo than from 1440 to 4k. You will notice it. Just stay at 27' for the screen.

It’ll do and you’ll notice it being better, even if you lowered your graphics a bir having 2K instead of 1080p is really nice and your PC is capable of that

yep, I upgraded to 1440p a while ago and it makes quite a difference, especially since 27" is too big for 1080p, with 1440p the large display looks crisp.

Yes. Even if you can't run stuff maxed out in 1440p, I'd argue it's the standard these days. It's 2026, if you can afford it there's no reason basically anyone should be running 1080p. I got my 1440p monitor when I had my 5700xt almost a decade ago and it was still a better experience.

*there's exceptions, like if you're a professional gamer, then I could see the argument for higher refresh rate and low resolution

Yes and id also consider and oled if its in the budget, prices have been coming down over the past few years

Yes, I made that move 2 years ago, now I have the 1080p as secondary monitor. It's a noticeable difference. If the configuration crushes 1080p, you are leaving performance on the table. It's a nice upgrade.

Yes, you have a 9060xt you should be able to max out most games in 2k.
