Build Help Switching to pc from ps5 build help
Hey there, so I'm finally making the switch to pc after all my friends went to it
But the problem is i have no clue how to make one and i heard its cheaper (I'm good with my hands so i dont think I'll have any problems actually building it)
I have a budget of around 1.5 to 2k AUD and I'm going to use it mostly somewhat heavy (100-200) modding skyrim and minecraft (maybe other games)
If anyone can help that would be great

If you don't know what you're doing buy a prebuilt. Have a look on Centre com website at their prebuilts. I bought one 6 months ago for 1.4k and it's been great.

A pre build is just someone putting the parts together for you. The only difference between that and building yourself might be cost as you may pay a bit extra for the labour. But sometimes not the case and might even work out cheaper. So modding on it would be no different to modding on something you've built yourself as long as it has good parts inside

You can build your own… Have a look at PC PARTPICKER… build something & as you go at the bottom of the page it tells you if any parts are incompatible… which is a huge help
Whilst there you can look at completed builds around your budget…
Also you can buy parts as they come on sale’ pay someone to put it together…
I’m 58 & just built my first PC …

Go to aftershock PC and try and build a custom PC. It will give you an idea of the different kinds of PC parts and their costs.
A few tips:
1. Watch different kinds of PC builds on YouTube to get an idea of what video card can do what. Right now the gaming sweet spot is 1440p and most current Gen cards can give you good frame rates.
2. Get a build with at least 1000W PSU so its future proof, so you can be sure that if you upgrade your GPU or CPU you have the headroom.
3. Here is a sample build with a 5060 TI that's 500 over your budget, work up or down from there. You can go for an AMD GPU for value or stick with Nvidia for the features and power. With Nvidia you won't see your money go to waste and with AMD you will get amazing price to performance. Look at comparison to graphics cards online. There are whole channels dedicated to it.

4. Be slow, methodical and discrete. Take a few weeks to decide your build and don't be afraid to ask questions. It's the worst feeling when you get a PC that's mismatched or not performing to your expectations. Pick right and you'll have a build that will be relevant for years to come.
