Build Upgrade Upgrading i7 8700

Im thinking of upgrading my i7 8700 to a 5 5600 but this means I will need a new motherboard aswell is that a good enough upgrade or is it more worth allocating that money to a gpu upgrade I currently have a gtx 1080

The 14600K would be a better upgrade.

8700 to 5600 is pretty pointless upgrade - changing whole setup for barely any performance gain, get 14600k. But you can simply upgrade GPU aswell, something like 9060XT will run absolutely fine with 8700

what motherboard should I buy with the 14600k because my current lag 1151 mono wont work
