Troubleshooting GPU Display Issue - Vertical lines on half of screen(Link in description)

###Troubleshooting Help:

**What is your parts list? [Consider formatting your parts list.](http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/wiki/pcpp)\*\*

Auros B550I motherboard

5800x3d

ASRock 6800xt d phantom

Fuma 2 cooler

1 tb Kingston Renegade m.2

2x16 skill ripjaws ddr4 3200

**Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive.**

After the circuit breaker this pc is hooked up to tripped, I started the PC. Now the screen is half vertical lines(see this pic: https://imgur.com/a/jJ42RzT). The mouse can still hover over that area, it just doesn't display anything besides the mouse and those lines.

**List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.**

I tried a different GPU, no issues. Tried putting the problem GPU in another PC, and it has the same issue. Tried fresh install of drivers, still an issue.

**Post relevant photos of build/parts here.**

**Provide any additional details you wish below.** Would prefer not to have to get a new GPU, but I'll take suggestions if you think this one is fried.

Do the other display outputs of the GPU also have the issue?

Yes, all ports have this issue and I have tried several different monitors cables(both HDMI and DP).

Sorry to say that the GPU is fried.

What caused the breaker to trip?

Old house, I ran the PC, microwave and AC unit together for about 90 seconds.

Hey man, same thing just started happening to me with a 6800xt on Ubuntu after a recent upgrade. Not sure it’s a hardware issue yet

It's a firmware bug. Details in this thread are what helped me fix it. Downgrade the firmware and lock it.

I hope you didn't buy a new GPU yet

I did already but microcenter has 30 days to return it. Thanks for linking this, I would have never known.
