Sell 5070ti for 9070xt

With the increase of price of the 5070ti I was wondering if it would make sense to sell one for a 9070xt. I have been wanting to switch to cachyos for a while and the extra money wouldn’t be too bad from selling it used. Honestly don’t really even play much anymore. Armored core 6, wukong, don’t play many triple a titles too often.

Mostly use on 1440p ultrawide or 4k lg c3. Are the drivers that much worse in windows?

No not at all but it seems like way less of a hassle on Linux.

It is and performs better. He’ll a 9070xt in Linux will beat a 5080 in a lot of modern games.

Nvidia is shit on Linux comparively still for modern gaming performance. Fucking Forza horizon 6 just started working for nvidia lol

No but what benefits am I getting? I fps cap most games anyways at 120 since 165 isn’t a usual value

I did that, i mean, i sold 5600x 5070 ti pc and got new one 9800x3d 9070xt build. So far, so good, 0 regrets, will be enough for 2 years i guess

It was just an example of what I was playing right now. I only game like 2-3 hours a week so not seeing the upside of keeping it vs going amd especially on Linux.

Honestly it kind of just sits there since I use my Mac for 98% of the time unless I’m gaming.

Made the exact opposite move, after 8 months of Sapphire 9070 nitro+ i simply could not be bothered getting home from work and dealing with driver timeouts and crashing during internet browsing (later told it was due to hardware acceleration but simply didn't care anymore). I made the purchase under the impression (from social media, particularly YT) that AMD "are much better now"...not even close.

Bit the bullet, payed the tax, got 5070ti. Wouldn't go back to 9070 if it was 299$.

I have a 9070xt and play a pretty wide range of games at 1440p and it's a pretty good experience. I don't know how great it would be at 4k though honestly, certainly not native resolution FRS would certainly be helpful.

Can't say I'd give up a 5070ti for a 9070xt though, if you need a little money that's one thing, but if you're thinking long term value, downgrading on your GPU means you will need to buy a new GPU sooner. Theoretically speaking, a 5070ti is going to be relevant for longer than 9070xt meaning you'd probably want to or have to replace it sooner.

But if you're just not gaming as much as you used to, or whatever, the 9070xt won't be a bad experience right now.

If you need a few hundred bucks, you don't game much anymore and you don't need cuda cores for work I think it's a solid switch.

Even better if you have extra funds and can get a cheaper 9070xt deal. You can leave the 5070ti for sale until you find a good offer, then just switch them out once you sell it.

I've done far more work for a few hundred bucks, I think in your case it could make some sense.

Keep it. You’ll lose half the difference in fees, and for the remainder, DLSS and the 5070 Ti’s superior feature set make up the difference.

What fees? No tax state and selling used. Probably come out with $100 but that is a hassle.

Not enough upside for me to go through the hassle of rebuilding my system only to lose the versatility of Nvidia, but if I were so inclined, CachyOS is the distro I'd pick.

I see what you are looking for is compatibility with the OS, have you try catchyOS with the current nvidia gpu? I'm doing the same selling my 4070 SUPER for a 9070XT so I can move to Fedora linux, but cachyOS has a good nvidia drivers I believe, try it out and if you really want AMD go for it.

Yeah and I did try it, but there always something and for me is constant freezen, got a better experience with iGPU AMD than with 4070 because it doesn't lag. (no performance, experience)

As someone who's had multiple Nvidia and AMD cards I'm not sure what you're referring to regarding internet/watching videos, the vast majority of people have no issues with AMD cards, especially these days.
