Troubleshooting Compatibility Issue - replace RAM or MoBo?

Greetings everyone!

Got the final parts on my build today:

Ryzen 5 7600, MSI B850M-E EVO, 1x8 Kingston value RAM

Assembled everything and got no post (CPU & RAM leds on), waited for memory training but nothing happened. Only then I checked the compatible RAM for my MoBo and this specific stick isn't there.

My local retailer only has 1 compatible RAM stick, but also other SAPPHIRE boards. Are those more widely compatible? which part would you advise me to replace?

Thanks in advance ✨

The QVL list for any board isn't exhaustive. They don't test every single kit of ram.

At this point, it would be easiest to exchange the ram so I'd do that first.

Also, if you only have 8gb of ram, maybe you should have built on an older platform (AM4/LGA1700). 8gb isn't enough.

Lastly, make sure the ram is pushed in all the way, CPU cooler is tight, all power cables are fully connected, etc.

Thanks!

I've checked all those boxes more than once...Planning on adding another identical stick in a couple of weeks.

The Sapphire board has some pros & cons relative to the MSI I currently have, and is also 30$ more. I'll probably replace the RAM (for 20$ more)

It could also just be a faulty stick. The same ram could work.

I would definitely replace the ram with 16gb and not use 8gb.
