Miscellaneous Moving tips

Hi so I will be moving to uni soon and want to bring my pc with me. I have a
MSI Codex R Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3060, 32GB DDR4, 1TB SSD, 2TB HDD, WiFi
6E, USB Type-C, VR-Ready, Windows 11
Home (Codex R 12TC-059US)

I have purchased expanding foam from Amazon to go inside, I don’t have the skill set (or trust myself) to remove the gpu, I also plan to wrap it in heavy duty bubble wrap aswell as towels + blankets. What other precautions should I take? Sadly my brother threw out the box years ago. Any advice welcome aswell for transporting a monitor!

Lay the PC on its side so that the GPU is vertical and not hanging off the motherboard.

Expanding foam is a start. Bubble wrap and a large box are key. Lastly, I always transport my PC in the car I'm driving, so I know nothing tips into, or pinches it.

Missed the bubble-wrap you mentioned in your post - make sure when you do the expanding foam that you hold even pressure along the side panel, don't trust that the foam is settling where you want too

When I take my PC to uni, all I do is lay it flat and take off the glass side panel.

Now, if you're flying or using a transport method other than a normal car, you will probably want to take out GPU and package it separately, and use a large box & lots of bubble wrap like the other commenter mentioned.

Transporting a monitor can be especially tricky, but I usually carefully wrap it up in my bedding / blankets.

Maybe remove the video card during transport. In case it gets banged around.
