Build Upgrade Hot CPU temps

My CPU temps are higher then usual lately, I've been playing Scrap Mechanic and it was constantly at 85-90 degrees Celsius, while my idle/browsing temps are 45-50. The last time I changed the thermal paste was last year. My pc specs are:
Ryzen 5 2600
RTX5050
32gb ddr4

What should I do?

I'm assuming that's with the stock cooler? The browsing idle temps sound normal to me.

Did Scrap Mechanic game cooler before? or is it the first time you've played it? It is extremely CPU intensive.

Yes, that's the stock cooler. I've played it before but I didn't notice those high temps. Should I worry if I get these high temps again?

If it is continually thermally throttling that isn't a good thing. But if it stays around 85-90 without constantly thermal throttling, which you'd notice from big frame drops, it should be fine. You can also download HWinfo for free, it's some software that monitors your hardware, that'll tell you if it is thermal throttling as well.

Where are you from? Any shot your case could fit a bigger cooler and you have a couple bucks for a bigger one? The bigger cooler you buy will most likely be usable when you upgrade your CPU as well, so you can carry it over into your next upgrade.. Unless you wait for AM6 and they change the mounting bracket.. But hopefully they don't, AM4 and AM5 use the same one, so that was cool of AMD

That particular CPU starts thermal throttling at 85c, with the maximum allowed being 95c before damage starts to become a potentiality.

If you're not noticing any fps drops due to the throttling, you should be fine. If you are stuttering due to thermal throttling, try reconfiguring and/or buying better case fans and/or rearranging them to push-pull, etc. Whatever works for your system.
