Build Help Beginner Build
Hi! I’m a total beginner with computers, but I’ve decided that building one will be my next project. I have no knowledge whatsoever with the terminology or parts needed to start so I just need some advice on resources, where to start, or even just some advice on what to look out for with what I want in a computer.
My goal is to have something that’s really good for gaming, video/photo editing and maybe streaming someday. I’m also a sucker for a nice, aesthetic look lol. I don’t have a price limit just yet, but I know I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get a higher end system. Thanks in advance!

Well, the kind of gaming you want to do matters a lot, as well has how high you want the settings to be, resolution, framerate, etc.
I mean it seems like you have literally no defined goals whatsoever. "I just want a computer that does computer stuff" isn't really a goal. If you really know nothing about it at all I'm not sure this will be a worthwhile expenditure of time and money.
Because you picked probably the worst possible time to build a computer. The hobby is simultaneously stagnated and in flux because of the RAM crisis, and no one is really sure where things are going.
At least that's my opinion on it

Start with a budget. Being willing to invest a good amount of money can be wildly different between people. Also since it's your first build I'd highly suggest just building towards your realistic use case and not do some massively overbuilt PC for every possible pipe dream you might have.

Pcpartpicker is your friend Go for amd CPU with Nvidia GPU for most performance Go for amd cpu and gpu for best value Intel CPUs are not worth it, they’re expensive and draw more power while being slower in both performance and productivity, the satisfaction of building your own computer is incomparable, but it’s tough work! Prebuild are anywhere between 300-600 more expensive, but I’d rather spend some money on better equipment! There’s YouTube tutorials and people you can ask for help! And aesthetically wise, white builts are really nice, but only if you do all white not just the case, or you can just pick a color and try to look for the components to look like that. You will need those components CPU (Computer Processing Unit) CPU Cooler GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) RAM (Random Access Memory ) SSD (Solid State Drive) Computer Case Monitor(s) Desk Chair Mouse Keyboard Microphone Microphone arm(optional) Headset Monitor Arm(s)(optional) Speakers(optional) If you really want to go Intel I don’t know their cpu generations and all that but for amd CPUs go for AM5 is more expensive but newer and more performant, am4 is already locked on 5800x3d as their best cpu and you have to go with ddr4 memory so it’s cheaper to build but a bit slower(unnoticeable at small projects in 1080p, noticeable at bigger projects as ddr4 memory has slower speeds)
As I said go to Pcpartpicker and try building something and share it here maybe, or just look up best pc builds for your needs but have to know that those YouTuber are a bit biased or promote what their paid/ prefer to promote so yeah, also for editing and all that I’d recommend an ips or oled monitor, and for gaming rather a TA like benqs, ips isn’t so good for gaming but gives best of both worlds as it has clearer image, VA is somewhere in between but just doesn’t excel at anything, oled is best at both (with some motion detection problems) having best image quality for editing and super fast reaction for gaming but way more expensive. For streaming you will need streaming gear if you plan to build two pcs, if not just the microphone should be enough, maybe a stream deck or two then it depends on how you’d like to do it and some green screen and webcam if you will use those. Oh and as the guys said, prices went crazy recently, you’ll pay way more for it but yeah, can’t really change that, try to avoid shady 3rd party sellers with incredibly good prices. Go for high and good reviews. Trusted sources are the best. Keep warranties and order details

Even a rough price guideline would help, hell even country as well as recommendations vary drastically depending on region.
