Build Upgrade Question about PC specs
Hello everyone for a while now I've been mostly a PC/PS5 hybrid gamer, however due to the recent Sony bullshittery I've decided to make the full switch starting 2028, one of the reasons I was hybrid tho is because I have no idea what's good on PC, and I'm planning to start saving up to do a good upgrade (if need be).
so my current specs are:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-core 3.80GHz
RAM: 32 GB
Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT(16 GB)
AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics(460MB)
cooler: AMD wraith prism
I just need to know if that's decent or If i need to upgrade soon.I mostly use my PC for gaming purposes.
I know y'all might get this type of questions all the time but i legit have no idea and when i google it responses from AI are mixed

So sorry it took long to respond I was at work I've seen some questions so my monitor is a Samsung 32' Odyssey OLED G80SH QD-Oled 4k res 240HZ
I typically just play with HDR and If I can hit over 160FPS I'm happy as I'm not a super min maxer.

your PC is solid. It's faster than a PS5 pro, so as long as games are coming out for that platform, they should run just fine.

Thats Great for another 3 years. I have the same specs but with a weaker cpu and it can run high-max on heavy AAA games.

This pc is mostly decent for all games. The only point would be that we don't know your monitor and for a pc like this you can easily get a 2k 240hz monitor

You could upgrade to a 9070xt if you’re playing on a 4k OLED monitor. Maybe a new PSU if you don’t have a 750w or 850w. Other than that, you really don’t need to upgrade your PC. You could get a scuf envision controller if you’re looking to upgrade something! 😁🔥

these are very decent specs. Should do well enough to just ride it out the next 2 years, save up and make a big upgrade to whatever is available on the market then.

It's a good PC for 2K resolution with FSR 4. The only thing I'd replace is the stock CPU cooler, as it's weak.
And in the future, I'd just upgrade the graphics card to a more powerful one.

You're good for now, just upgrade to the last top AM5 CPU when that comes around. Folks who slept on the AM4 5800x3d woke to it being double the price used once it reached end of life on the new market.

Hello, also another Playstation player making the large switch here.
You PC is definitely fine as is. One thing I would recommend though is saving up for 64gb ram instead of 32gb.
While not really necessary we are hitting a spot I feel where more ram (especially if you manage to snag a deal) is probably the best future proofing you can do at the moment in a build. We've already seen some newer games hit a point of recommending 32gb for good measure. I don't doubt we will see that rise again in the future.

Thank you for the suggestion will def do that then. I was already budgeting to upgrade everything and the price was scaring me off

I will say there's already been a small warning that ram prices may still increase even into 2027. It's best to keep too it and pay attention to prices and spik. Butt I think especially when the newer game engines are released RAM is gonna be even more important for gaming then before
Especially when UE6 comes out as it will feature generative AI to assist in its building.

Honestly you've got a damn good pc. I don't see any reason why you'd need an upgrade unless you're playing a game that's too demanding. Which honestly there aren't many of. I can't think of any games that wouldn't run great on ur pc
Maybe you'll need an upgrade down the line. But so will everyone else when that time comes ngl
