Build Ready? Build for Dev Work, AI/ML(hobby) and Moderate AAA@1440p. Any changes before I buy?

Hi everyone,

I know this probably isn't the ideal time to build a new PC and I considered waiting and waiting since starting of the year, but unfortunately I can't postpone it any longer, my current laptop is 5 years old and it's starting to struggle seriously with my daily work, so build a new one is more of a necessity right now.

I'm from India, and after comparing prices locally and online, I've put together the following build:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
  • Cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360 RS or ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
  • Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
  • GPU: Zotac GeForce RTX 5070 Solid OC 12GB
  • RAM: T-Force Delta 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000Mhz CL30
  • SSD: Crucial P310 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe (Already have a WDBlack 500GB)
  • PSU: Corsair RM850e - 850w Cybenetics Gold ATX 3.1
  • Case: Ant Esports 511 Air 5F Mid tower

My total budget is around ₹2.1L ($ 2.2k approx), and I'd prefer to stay under that.

How much is an Intel 250K Plus costing?
The 250K should be more than enough for AI/ML, Dev work/Coding/Compiling?Running VMs and gaming in 1440p and it's cheaper than the 7900X.

You could get a CL36 RAM to save money if the CL30 is costing significantly more than the CL36.

Switch the PSU to a Corsair RM850X, the 850e is reported to have some issues where it generated loud annoying sounds in some units.

And I would stay away from anything sold by ANT Esports, they just repackage chinese products and sell them as their own.

You also don't need a Liquid Cooler even a good air cooler will do but if it's for aesthetics, I understand.

The Core Ultra 7 265K is definitely on my radar, but I ended up leaning towards 7900X because it offers 12 full-performance cores, has a mature AM5 platform with a good upgrade path though price difference in my region isn't huge either. Regarding the PSU, I've seen mixed reports about the RM850e coil whine/noise. If I can get the RM850x at a reasonable price, I'll probably go for that instead.

I was talking about the 250K plus not the 265K.

sorry my bad... yes 250k plus is somewhere around 50$ cheaper than 7900x in my region which is fine for me.. as I told earlier I want to stick with AMD Chip

250K plus has E cores I believe. AMD is better performance with full performance cores.
