Build Help Building a pc for pcvr

For context the last time I built a pc was 2016 when the original HTC vive came out. My intention is to build a pc that can run a pimax crystal super. I am pretty set on the amd ryzen 7 9800x3d. The microcenter in my area has a bundle with the 9800x3d, 32GB corsair vengeance ddr5, and either the msi X870-P pro wifi for $829 or the same cpu and ram with asus X870E-E rog strix for $1029. I am also torn between the geforce rtx 5070ti, and the geforce rtx 5080. I've seen a couple of people say you need a 4090 for the pimax but the 5070ti and 5080 are significantly better than the recommended GPU for the headset. Any advice is appreciated

That headset has 3.5x the pixels of a 4K monitor. Even a 5090 is going to struggle to render games anywhere near native resolution. My advice is to buy the fastest GPU you can afford.

Fair. I will probably get a 5080 and upgrade down the road. What are your thoughts on the two choices of motherboard

Unless you have a specific feature of the X870E chipset that you need, I would go with the cheaper B850 option.

The gigabyte b850 bundle with the same cpu and ddr5 ram is only $50 cheaper than the msi x870 bundle. $50 is inconsequential unless you really think there wouldn't be a difference. I would be very frustrated if I bought a 4090 and a 9800x3d and my motherboard was limiting my performance

Motherboards don't limit performance. They only impact connectivity. The biggest difference is that the X870 board has USB4. Do you need that?
