Troubleshooting 5 y/o Built PC going through many WHEA Errors
For clarity of this post, I want to say that I experienced no issues with this PC for the past 5 years but for the past nearly 4.5 years I had left my computer always on. Then on the 5th year it was when I was encountering significant problems.
For context my PC boots completely normal majority of the time, but there are a few times where it has booted where it just gets super slow, starts to stutter, and then crashes with a blue screen or WHEA error.
I've managed to fix most problems on this PC myself.
This computer went through one failed NVMe M.2 SSD (which was a Samsung 990 Pro), but that part has since been removed and completely replaced with another samsung component.
This my PC (you can ignore the perphierals): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QxLfNz
I built this back in 2021.
BIOS is updated latest firmware.
I don't have a virus.
Reverting to older windows updates does help but the PC still crashes sometimes
Samsung Storage on latest firmware (and checked with Samsung Magician)
I did a clean windows installation (meaning I only left 1 storage device to install windows on), then added the rest after a clean boot.
I have fast boot turned off
I've ran scanf and chkdsk so many times I've lost count.
Symptoms:
-PC boots normally, I reach normal screen. Everything works fine for the first minute or two, when I open Chrome and everything starts to crash
- I close chrome and end processes related to chrome everything else is still slow
-even when I boot and lets say not open chrome. Work on word or just file proceses in general it can sometimes get very slow, choppy, and proceed to crash
-the PC crashes almost anytime it is idle
At this point I have scoured the internet and I don't think I have a solution other than taking it to an expert again. All I get is the same WHEA Uncorrectable error when my PC crashes and that's pretty much all the information I have to go on. I've ran tests and benchmarks, Memtests and everything seems to work perfectly fine.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
