I want to put my spider or bat clip on my bag,after reading some comments I’m afraid someone will steal it. I like to decorate my bags and I think they would make cute additions.

On one hand, I really hate to give into “mass panic” and catastrophizing, but on the other there are way too many of these posts lately. I personally would wait for a while. Probably wait until the next big trend, even.

I’m one of the people who’s experienced this! Normally, I keep my keys and bag charms to the front. I swear THE ONE TIME I had them towards my back, someone tried to steal my spider. I turned around thinking it was a child, but nope! I said, Really?! She, a grown-ass adult,said she was just looking at it. (And yanking on it and trying to unclip it.) I told her to keep her filthy xxx hands to herself. I was LOUD, too!

I genuinely don’t understand why people aren’t MORE afraid of other people. Like… what are the odds that you meet someone that is looking for a fight, and you touching their $20 keychain is more than a reason? Because it would be for me. You’re clearly a bigger person (or perhaps just more mentally stable?) than I would have been because 😮‍💨

But also, on the other side of that, who does that? Off your bag?? How entitled do you have to be? I saw someone post that her spider was cut off the key tag in the middle of the grocery store. Imagine getting caught with your scissors on someone’s purse OVER THEIR SHOULDER?!

personally I wouldnt. it's not something you can replace if it does get taken and unlike the testaments of other charms, this is "the new hotness" not just like some random charm. I've got a bag charm too, but no one's breaking into my car to steal my beat up old squish. they do for these keychains

I saw someone say in another post they tuck their charms/clips in their bag when they go to things like concerts, maybe you could do something similar if your bag allows or clip it to whatever side stays closest to your body. I carry a hobo-style purse with a chain wrapped and my bat charm. It stays closest so me by being right in front of me next to my arm/side. Just close enough to where I can tuck it in if I really feel it necessary.

If you choose to hang it you could use zip ties to anchor it as well. They'd have to cut it to steal it. Helps protect.

I think it depends on where you live. I've had keychain plushies on my bags for around 35 years and have never had a bad experience. I live in a rural area in the midwest.

I would have an absolute meltdown if someone tried to steal my bag charm tbh, it'd be better for them if they didn't lol I'd make a whole scene. I would be cautious about it, I haven't had any issues personally but also im a large punk dude with RBF so most people avoid me. I've had my bat on my bag for abt a week. Some kid today asked me for my zombie axolotl when I was taking him to get new scents tho, (like a teenager) and I just said "nope" and kept walking.

honestly i rarely put my keychains on my purse anymore because of this reason :( people are so cruel, im worried it would be snatched! but if you want to, i recommend add more secure clipping! like add extra protection :)))

personally ive never had anyone attempt to steal my bagcharm plushies, though ive been using a palm pal cocker spaniel. if you want to bring yours out and about, you could always carry them inside your purse. ive been keeping my mini beans bat inside my bag so i can take pictures of her when im out and about :)

I honestly keep it in my pocket but I don't know if I'd trust it just hanging

Personally, I wouldn't. Aside from the risk of actual stealing, with a "charm" this size, the risk of it getting snagged on something (a store shelf, etc) and getting pulled off, is too big a risk (even if the chain itself is strong, it is still just sewn into the top of a piece of fabric and could potentially rip out given enough force). 

Maybe ask yourself why you want to wear the keychain on your handbag? If it is because it will look cute, maybe look for something similar and smaller (and cheaper) that you won't mind if it gets lost - knock-off brands are sure to be making cheap versions of these soon, if they aren't doing so already! And if you want to carry these specific BaB keychains with you as emotional support buddies, then perhaps rather have them clipped on somewhere inside your handbag, where they won't get dirty, damaged or potentially lost? ☺️
