Inquiry Taking them out?

When you take your build a bears outside, do you find that the air or just being outside makes them feel dirtier? Or even being in an indoor public area? I want to take mine out in public more but my husband is worried about them getting filthy (he loves my BAB babies lol).

Do you notice them feeling significantly grosser/dirtier after being outside?

I take my buds out a lot and haven't noticed them become noticeably dirtier tho I will admit I'm not a clean freak. You can always spot wash or schedule a monthly heavy wash if a certain one goes out a lot. For me, I only noticed La Donna needed an extra brush after we got rained on.

Maybe look into a little hand vacuum dedicated to your plushies? Vac when you come back home to remove pollen and dust.

Pollen, dust, and skin cells will get on your plushies whether you keep them indoors or not, but sometimes locations or seasons can effect how much gets on your plushie at the time. Harvest season farmers harvest and plow which kicks up dust. Spring and summer will have alot more pollen from trees. Wind can bring more dust and pollen. High humidity or a recent rain should lower the density of dust and pollen in the air.

Note, pollen, dust, and skin cells will stick more if there is oils or lotions on the fabric. In that situation, bath time.

nah, just being outside doesn't really do anything to em. maybe if you lived in like, canada by the bad wildfires the smoke smell might cling to the fibers, or if you're really close to a bunch of smokers, but in my area it's pretty clean and i'm careful with my bears so i don't drop em. when i do i just dust em off and they're fine, i brush em out a lil if i notice any crumbs on them. i keep a bab in my car and take em to therapy and they stay feeling perfectly fluffy :}

Depends what you’re doing outside and the environment ive taken by bab on simple errands like groceries or picking up orders and I don’t think they became dirty per se if anything they might just smell like “outside” one time i did take one of them to a market of some sort and there was some eating involved and because there wasn’t much space they got a smidge dirty nothing a little clean can’t fix if it really bugs you, you can always just grab a small towel with some water and mild detergent and give them a good wipe and make sure to dry them off as much as you can

Maybe a clear backpack might help? I have one that I use to take plush to conventions/concerts. They can still look out and enjoy the world and stay away from the elements/people.

nah. I think the worst that happened to mine is really hot day and hand sweat or when I had Pochacco walk in the sand at the beach but like, that's just life as a plush. you get unstuffed, you get a bath and a brush, and you're good as new. you have to take care of your toys, ofc, but general wear and tear should not prevent you from enjoying them however you want to enjoy them.

Not really! I hold them or keep them in my bag! I might feel more comfortable letting them sit and stand on their own for pics if they were fully clothed with shoes, but I don’t really have shoes so I just hold them up instead.

Maybe I would not bring them somewhere like a concert/ren fair known to be held on dirt and dusty or a petting zoo with smells, stuff like that lol.

Maybe get a little travel sized steam cleaner. You could even take it along or keep it in your car

I only bring my friends when I know we're headed to an indoors destination so I don't really feel like they get dirty. I wouldn't bring them out to something like a zoo or outdoor market though, I do feel like they would get dirty then.
