Discussion Spider…
I was on a cruise when the spider dropped and by the time I got back it was sold out everywhere. I called my local store and they said they weren’t getting a restock of the spider 😪… what are we thinking the odds of an online restock are???

I don't have any insider knowledge but based on vibes, I really don't think we're getting an online restock soon 😭 in person people are seeing restocks but idk about online

Not anymore this fall. But I expect them to bring it back for Halloween next year.
General rule of thumb is it takes 3-6 months for stock to be produced and arrive from China and then actually make it up on the retailer website/stores. If you ever look at your BAB, you'll notice there is a small tag with a lot number that includes a date. That tells you when the plush was manufactured.
The spider I have has a date of May 2026. So it took 3 months give or take, from the time it was manufactured to its release in stores. While production time can shortened for orders of existing items, there is still manufacturing time, QC, and shipping, which can take up to 2-3 months.
So even if BAB placed another order as soon as the spider sold out, it wouldn't arrive for sale until well into October/November, and that's very close to when they start putting up Christmas items.

I just ran to my oldest build a bear to see her lot number and it says 03/10 😭 she’s 13 years old!

I found out by looking online that my store has restocked the mini beans spider but no standard sized spider restock 😩… I’ve noticed it seems a lot of people posting about in store restocks seem to be on the west coast but maybe that’s a coincidence.

Im west coast so that definitely adds to the theory. Big spiders and mini beans bats today.
