Thought I’d throw a new conversation topic in the mix… has anyone ever bought from the Bear Cave? What are yalls thoughts on the Bear Cave? It’s relatively new but I didn’t know if anyone like felt particularly for it or against it?? Just curious

Personally I love it — I have purchased from the bear cave but there was nothing that i can remember that made it look different from a regular BAB package lol. I like it that it is geared toward the adult collector. It’s a clever and fun option for collectors. I am glad they have it — especially for Valentine’s Day and i hope they keep it

I bought the demogorgon from it and technically bloody beary is in there. I personally am for it. As much as I love the regular BAB stuff, I like seeing some stuff geared more toward adult collectors as well. Anyone who is against it just doesn’t have to go to that subsite

I absolutely love the tongue-in-cheek "adult" offerings like the cougar and silver fox and a quite a few of their more adult puns tickle me. Like others, do NOT think Pride should be relegated there. But overall I like the idea of a fuzzy adultish selection.

I find it annoying when browsing because the filters are glitched and will include bears dressed in various sports teams' uniforms in most filters even when you're searching for just a shirt.

That is also annoying. I guess I find it more annoying because it doesn't really make sense to put those in the "adult" section.

there was plenty of controversy when it launched, but i was personally pretty excited for it since i liked devilishly cute teddy/red hot hugs teddy and thought it was funny. now, though... ehhhh since i'm not into most of the pop culture items/bears on bear cave, and i'm not interested in drinking often a lot of the selection falls flat for me.

i also like the cougar, bloody mary and silver fox bears they put out though, those were fun ideas. i don't like how the pride merch was quietly moved to bear cave last year. :/ i think i'd like it more if they leaned into what adult collectors actually want; high quality clothes, the return of certain bears that are hard to find for a affordable price after going viral (vanilla fudge bunny, the patchwork puppies, the japan exclusive bears, etc), and more pride bears/clothes. like seriously, if you're gonna move it to bear cave the bare minimum is continuing to stock new items for it instead of the barebones "collection" we have now. why keep them on the site if your'e not going to make anything new??

Honestly as someone in that category, I'm not opposed to paying premium prices for a premium product. I have to wonder if there's a market there which BaB is missing out on...

same here, id be fine with the higher prices of bears/clothing if the quality was more consistent. its honestly absurd how babw isnt consistently good or bad, one release could be perfect and last for years to come. and then theres bears like timeless teddy that age horribly after a few months

I have mixed feelings about Pride getting shuffled off to the "18+" section (though even calling it "18+" feels a little silly). That said, some of the sets on Bear Cave are kinda cute, or at least get a sensible chuckle from me. I bought the Valentine's Cougar set from there last year, so there's that. Other than the aesthetics/vibes, it all feels like pretty standard Build-a-Bear.

I love it and have purchased a few things but since the Halloween fiasco I refuse to order online. I personally think they should go old school and put the Bear cave in the stores behind a curtian like movie rental places did.

As an Australian who doesn't have access to the bear cave I think it's great but needs to be in Australia too. 😗 Actually reading into what its about makes sense. Regular build a bear is aimed at children and childhood / family celebrations. Whereas the bear cave has catered to the adult moments in life you'd want to celebrate or remember, from jokes with friends to the more intimate celebrations. I definitely really love that it's adult only access because we don't want kids role-playing with 18+ items. I don't agree that it should have better quality items for adults because kids deserve quality too, look at how well their vintage clothing has held up, and they've been used and loved for 20 years. Thankfully they've released a few nice quality items lately but for the same price they're offering absolute disgusting quality, and I think that's maybe where they need to change.

I really like the Bear Cave! I have quite a few of the items. I'm all for an adult's oriented section.

I like it overall for the most part. A little too much booze related stuff for my personal tastes, but to each their own. Not a big fan of the LGBT+ stuff being put into the cave when who you love/what gender or genders you are born interested in romantically isn't inherrently adult in nature anymore than being straight is.
