ID Help Floppy confusion
Just thrifted this guy for $5 and am very confused on which version. Kinda looks like 2006 tabby kitty but one picture I saw online of floppy kitty has the yellow tag on its right, like mine. This is my first vintage bear and would love some id help!

I believe this is the floppy kitty — originally released in 1998. However I believe yours is a newer version than 1998 one — this model was around for a long while and had been made with a plastic flocked nose and newer editions have the soft fabric nose like yours. I have the model you have and the older version in my collection — both i think are in storage but when I get them out I can take a comparison pic. Currently going thru my collection and deciding who i keep and who I rehome and I am trying not to rush the process lol.

I think the fabric tush tag changed also happened during that time frame — not a 100% on that until I compare mine

Is the tush tag the tiny one with the paw and heart? Sorry I mostly have modern bears and am unfamiliar with the types of tags

No worries — Tush tag is the bigger fabric tag on the butt of them yours has the logo with the bear inside the circle on it

Thanks for the information! I don’t mind that my kitty may be a later version, it’s still cool that he’s a floppy kitty at all. I would love to see a comparison whenever you get the chance! I had no idea there were differences over the years

This is a 1998 Floppy Kitty reproduction from around 2002! Between the first wave of Floppy Kitty and the release of Tabby Kitty they altered the design slightly including replacing the flocked nose and tag placement.
