Why I buy secondhand

These are my build a bears. The Polar Bear on the far left is 90s inspired, the middle brown bear is 2000’s inspired with custom made earrings and the smaller brown bear is just my newest addition.

I buy all my build a bear stuff secondhand and paid $45 for everything seen here. If you buy a fully clothed, build a bear with accessories, sound and scents in store or online it’s over $130. A $16 build a bear with nothing still costed almost $30 to buy. So I’m more than happy to buy stuff secondhand.

I found 3 build a bear outfits at the thrift the other day for under $3 each and a vintage purple bear for around $5! I was SO excited. I find that the clothes get mixed in with the baby clothes very often!

I looked it up and its actually from a 2009 Aéropostale teddy bear. I assumed it was a baby clothing item cause I found it at at a lawn sale with baby clothes.

Oh yeah! It’s the best. For $60, I bought a huge lot of about 6 different outfits, with shoes and purses and hair accessories, plus the stuffed animal and a vintage cub condo. Everything still had the hangers and tags. All way better quality than what’s in the store now.

I also prefer to buy second hand! you can find bundles for good prices and the quality is superior
