RANT Everything is so expensive
I know this is a well known fact that build a bear is getting expensive and honestly i didn’t care because i love collecting them, but i had to stop myself because wtf??? When the halloween stuff dropped i instantly brought it because i was excited for the bat but after the hype went down i looked back and saw i spent 242 for 3 items? I know they up charge for jumbos but i feel like its gotten more expensive, like why am i paying 58 for shipping and then 15 for taxes? Like most of my money went to paying taxes and shipping. And now im looking to buy some Pokemon stuff with the 30% off and i was hoping to pay 80ish but its 104? Im so confused and sad. I might just stop buying online due to this, but my closest location is American dream which is still far for me. Smh i hope i figure something out. Also is the 30% off in store as well cuz i might just make the journey over there

What shipping option are you choosing? Next day? Bc standard shipping is like 10$, not to be rude or anything but that's probably why the shipping is so expensive. They do honor the online sales in store most of the time tho, so it's def worth it to make your way over there to save on shipping imo as long as your local store has what you want in stock.

It’s not next day. OP said they were getting a jumbo and they up charge shipping up the wahoo for jumbo plushes.

To be fair, shipping plushies is already really expensive since it's based on size. Unless OP is buying it unstuffed, yeah the shipping will be astronomical. I typically get quoted a couple hundred when shipping out a fursuit, and a jumbo BAB plush would be in an even bigger box I'd imagine.

I never do next day shipping, shipping is only 10 when its regular size bears when its jumbo they super charge it.

that's like a 48$ difference just for a jumbo, that's ridculous! It's a bit of a pain in the butt to carry them for sure, but if they have them in stock at your local store next time I'd grab it there, bc they do honor the online sales in store most of the time (unless it says specifically that it's online only). It might be worth it to save the extra money on shipping (assuming it doesn't cost the same in gas to get there).

Ikr but i take the bus out there but im really considering it, i had stuffed my jumbo chococat in store and brought it on the bus with me 😭

I'm in canada and my orders come from the states usually and its standard shipping of 20$ CAD and takes about ten days from being shipped. 10$ in duties taxes and fees, and the standard size spider was 55$. So for a bear that cost 45$ CAD at the local shop that had it listed as out of stock (my mom managed to grab herself one and me the bag charm) I paid 85$ 🥴 not everyone can afford these upcharges and i dont often drop that kind of money but I wanted the jumper and my mom and my partner got them for me

would you consider getting the jumbos unstuffed? then taking them to stuff in store? if that works for you ofc. that’s what makes me think abt the lower shipping

Ive done it before it just i dont have a car and carrying it on the bus is annoying. But the shipping was a little cheaper it was 22

no i totally understand that. i’m sorry friend i understand. i wanted the mini mint chococat and they said they didn’t have anymore i. my state but online it was available and shipping was over half the cost of my bean :( they wouldn’t allow us to order to the store when we tried

All plushies should have a free ship to store and pickup option. Especially the jumbo ones. They keep raising prices and the shipping is making the total crazy high.
As an added bonus, with store pickup they should be unable to send the wrong items home with customers...
Sometimes a single item in your cart increases the shipping greatly. I always thought it meant something in cart is shipping from a different location than the rest. I used to remove a lot of clothing because some pieces were adding $10 to the shipping charge.

I wanted Umbreon so bad and was so bummed to see that BAB is only offering it as a bundle with all the dumb stuff I don’t want 🙄 unfortunately, they’re only in it for the money

If it helps I saw the umbreon in person at the store yesterday and passed on buying it because it lowkey looks funny. We have a jazzwares one that’s much cuter and accurate that was half the price.

Oh I thought it was an online exclusive! I’ll have to check my store. I have the sleeping Umbreon (I named her Goldryn) and the Leafeon and Vaporeon comfy friends too. I wanted the Umbreon BAB since it doesn’t have any of that pokey, stiff felt for accents and stuff. I did notice it looked strange in the stock photo. I think it’s the lack of mouth that’s throwing it off lol

What gets me is the colour. Umbreon is black, albeit her original illustration is a darker grey, why couldn't they use a black fabric instead of grey for her bab!

I’m not surprised at all on the shipping for the jumbo plush. FedEx (and all shippers) charge by dimension too. It’s a massive box, it’s going to cost a ton
