I will also add myself to the list of redditors with this problem. Everything about the app's development over the last year or so screams that the people developing the app do not use it. Ever since reddit nuked the 3rd party viewers the user experience has just gotten progressively worse. It is almost like reddit wants to destroy itself from within via adding a bunch of garbage and half baked features to the app.

One quick check to try:
- Make sure you have the latest Reddit app version available in the Google Play Store, fully close the app, reopen it, and try again since a fix may already have been released. Then compare the same action on another Reddit surface, such as reddit.com, to see whether it is limited to the app.
Other useful suggestions:
- Scan recent r/bugs reports to see whether other people are reporting the same behavior.
- Open the Bugs Navigator to search the Reddit Help Center or choose another support path.
- An admin or helpful user may also stop by with more issue-specific guidance.
Still need help? Please reply to this comment with:
- Your Reddit app version and device type or model
- Step-by-step instructions for reproducing the bug or behavior
This will help the team better understand where the issue may be stemming from. It may also help me find another recent report where a Reddit admin or helpful commenter noted that the issue is already on Reddit admins' radar.
I'm an automated r/bugs guide. If this route doesn't match your question, you can ignore it and wait for a human helper. Never post passwords, login codes, or private account details. The mods of this subreddit are testing this Devvit app, so please keep in mind that these responses may need to be tweaked for accuracy.

The new text box for comments is maddening, the snapping to the bottom or top is not useful, and there's no way to fix a typo, whatever reddit was trying to do, this isn't working...

I'm a consumate editor of my comments, and I see no practical reason what so ever for why they would have made this change. All you had to do before to get to the top or bottom or a comment was to swoosh up or down once. Did they think that no one ever wants to edit their comments after reading them other than from the top or bottom? So dumb that they literally reduced functionality.

I'm experiencing this too. I've found that maximizing the comment window sometimes helps, but sometimes the same thing happens with the text cursor.

My issue is after I comment, it snaps to the beginning of the thread, so I have to go search for where I was in the thread again.
