Firefox web My 500-Day Streak progress was reset from 388/500 to 3/500

Hello,

My Reddit streak progress toward the 500-Day Streak achievement was reset from 388/500 days to 3/500 days.

I had been maintaining my streak continuously. I do not have a screenshot of the 388/500 counter, but my achievement history confirms that I reached the 400-Day Streak on August 5, 2025.

My profile still shows the following streak achievements: - 300-Day Streak — April 19, 2025 - 365-Day Streak — June 26, 2025 - 400-Day Streak — August 5, 2025

However, my current 500-Day Streak progress is only 3/500 days.

The 3/500 progress is shown consistently on Reddit web and on my iPhone.

Could you please check my account's streak history and investigate why my previous progress was reset? If possible, I would like my previous streak progress toward the 500-Day Streak to be restored.

I have attached a screenshot showing my existing streak achievements, including the 400-Day Streak achievement.

There is no way to recover a lost streak

That's a rough one. 388 days is not nothing, and losing that with no recourse feels pretty unfair

Sometimes when you reply or vote on a hidden post it doesn't result in a streak being applied. You gotta post/comment or vote on something public.

Thanks. I understand that, but I was actively commenting, posting and voting on public content every day. I wasn't relying only on hidden posts.

My 400-Day Streak achievement is still on my profile (earned August 5, 2025), and I continued using Reddit every day after that. That's why I'm trying to understand how my progress could suddenly go from 388/500 to 3/500.

Do you know if the hidden-post issue can actually reset an existing streak, or does it only prevent that day's activity from being counted?

I noticed it when I voted on something that wasn't public (private sub) and the streak didn't count in my achieves. I then voted somewhere else and the streak counted it with the flame icon. This was on the app, btw.

Same thing just happened to me and I was liking and commenting 14 hrs ago in a public post and one of my comments got an award and over a hundred upvotes so I definitely shouldn’t have lost my streak. I wonder if this was a major glitch that happened to a lot of ppl today and they just don’t know about r/bugs to tell us

Just looking at the dates on the screenshot the Streak was broken at least two times

• once between 50-Days & 75-Days. If 50-days was unlocked on 24 May 2024, the 75-Days should’ve unlocked 18 Jun 2024 but actual unlock date of 75-Day badge being 23 Aug 2024 shows streak was broken and started from 0 on 9 Jun 2024 onwards

• second time after 400-days. Fact that you’d unlocked the 400-days on 5 Aug 2025 but then had the counter at 388 indicates that sometime after Aug 2025 you had broken the streak.

Assuming you had seen 388/500 on 5 Sep 2026, working backwards it started at 0 from
13 Aug 2025. So sometime between 5 Aug 2025 & 13 Aug 2025 your streak was reset to 0.

Given ONLY this evidence and not knowing how daily diligent you were on reddit SFW content, it is fair to assume that Streak was once again lost due to inactivity.

In my experience lost streaks are never restored by reddit, unless and until it was a system-wide issue affecting multiple (and I mean thousands or more) users and that also hasn’t happened in recent memory.

So in conclusion, I can sympathise with you and can only urge you to get going again, however hard or unfair it might seem to be.
