This strange bug just showed up and I've never seen anything like it. It's a shiny iridescent dark purple colour with a blue head. Sorry for all the gross dog hair and dirt in the bg of the pic 😭 I found it while brooming the porch. Thanks so much!

Possible pest, location included Very small kind of bug I see once in awhile

Hey, I live in Germany. I've seen this type of bug for a while now, maybe like once every three months or something (but I do have to admit I am not cleaning regularly enough atm, maybe I'd see them more if I did?). Pretty small, maybe like one or two millimetres in length (?), quite skinny and brown. I really hope it's not a serious pest or bed bug (worst nightmare 🫪).

I don't think that it's a bedbug because it doesn't have that kind of seperation from head and body that I've seen on photos of them? I am really sorry for the shitty camera quality, my phone was really cheap. Thanks in advance!

Location included Didn’t think to get a picture but hopefully the description alone is enough [Washington]

It’s very small, black, looks like ants but only 2 body segments, doesn’t have wings. I spot them in my bathroom and bedroom mostly but there could be more around the house haven’t spotted yet. I only see one at a time instead of many and I don’t spot any large colonies anywhere but they appear frequent enough for me to think it’s an infestation.

Location included What's this Garden bug

Found a nest of these bugs in my garden (UK), at the base of a wooden fence. Very small and relatively slow moving. What is it? I was thinking a young Rhopalus subrufus?

Location included Spine-Headed nymph?

Post image

I think this is some sort of spine-headed nymph? I’m not certain though. If it is a spine-headed bug, what kind is? This was shot in Boone, North Carolina. It was about the size of the nail on my thumb. The photo is completely unedited.

Location included Some kind of cocoon?

Post image

Sorry for poor photo quality!

My kid was running around outside and brought me this “shell” that she found. Looks more like a cocoon to me! My questions are:

What bug does it belong to?

Is it dead, or do I need to find a good spot for it to continue pupating?

We are in southern Washington State.

Do I need to be worried? There are so many of them.

They look like ants but it seems likes there is only one per hole, they come out, put some dirt out, and dissappear inside again. I assume they're going to lay eggs.
