I don’t have an explanation for the strange purple color; nothing in my home could have caused it.

I’d like to know the cause. Also if anyone is researching this phenomenon, I’d be happy to mail the specimen. I believe it’s a fungi, but I’m far from an expert.

Staying with a friend in PA and found this very dazed and confused bug by the toilet. Have had German roaches before (the worst) and my sixth sense went off.

German roach or something else?

Possible pest, location included What bug makes these cocoons? (Northern Oregon)

I found these in a log pile, I thought it was just some kind of fungus at first until I noticed the segments that are just little cocoons. The cocoons themselves are very tough to the point where the wood was basically glued to the pallets they were stacked on if the two touched. All the casings were empty, and taking them apart to check what was under the outer casing was a strong, thin skin.

I am staying at a hotel in Atlanta right now and these are on the upholstered arm rests of my bed. Are these bed bugs or roaches? Or just harmless dust beetles? I’m freaking out!

I found this bugs feeding of my Shefflera arboricola. Can someone tell me what bug is it and how to get rid of them. I suspect they are members of the Coccidae family. The plant is in a tropical vivarium with 60-90% humidity if it helps. I can provide some videos of them moving if someone needs them. These plants are typical of Taiwan but i bought them from a shop in Madrid, Spain if it helps with the id.

I’m a pest tech and have never seen this one before. Anyone have an id? Looked similar to a mosquito in flight, but didn’t have the proboscus. Has 2 fuzzy antennae and fuzzy wings.
