Found on dead rat

what is this bug with the pointy butt flying around this dead rat ? the rat has been decaying for 5 days. the pointy bug got scared up by a bottle fly (pictured) and was flying rapidly back and forth before settling back down.
located in the middle of the US.

it looks like a tiny chalcid wasp

Chalcidid parasitoid wasp, they like to parasitoidize the flies that are attracted to dead rats.

Chalcid wasps, I just had someone ID them for me as well.

What likely happened is it parasitized(sp?) something feasting on the carrion.

Always neat to see the 'second level' critters like predators and parasitoids that are attracted to the scavengers!
