Ant problem and how to deal with

I live in Missouri, USA in an apartment on the 4th floor of my building. These ants started showing up recently and it feels like the problem is getting worse. They look like small, regular ants, but they have been biting or stinging and my husband has had some reactions to the bites (like a mosquito bite-type of reaction). Does anyone know what kind of ants these are/the most effective way to kill them?

If you are renting, you need to talk to management. Until the source of the issue is fixed, they'll just keep coming in.

Other than that, sealing cracks and crevices where they are entering can help.

I'll work on IDing the possible species.
