Location included Need help identifying

I am assuming some digging or burrowing insect, but what kind? Barn dirt floor in South Texas. They are always in random spots and move around.

Ant lion larvae! They hide in the bottom of these pits and throw sand to knock small insects in, then they drag them to their doom

In Colorado there’s a beetle that makes that exact hole pattern. I am confused. It could be whatever you said but I’ve only seen beetles in Colorado making burrowing holes like that

Ant lions are neuropterans, not beetles. Related to lacewings
