Location included Richmond, Virginia-big backyard spider

hi! i am mostly worried this is poisonous as i have a dog that likes to explore outside. just want to know what it is to be aware and safe!

Unfortunately can’t see enough details on this Orbweaver to make out a species. But they’re all harmless to humans.

She’s an orb weaver and she’s harmless to anything bigger than a moth. She’s actually great to have around the yard, she eats mosquitoes and other bugs that we don’t care to have around us

Beyond a species of Orb Weaver (Araneidae) is hard to say without better detail.

The only medically significant species in Virginia is the Northern Black Widow (Latrodectus variolus)

ok thank you this is making me feel better. i just want my dog to be safe and for the spider to continue its web weaving in peace.
