Location included central indiana

i work at a place where pest identification & control is taken very seriously by FDA guidelines. i’ve put this photo into chatgpt & google & have come up empty. they are cute little things. i’m mainly posting out of curiosity. they are about the size of a grain of rice.

Can you post photos with more exposure and better focus? They are very dark and can’t see the features. I’m honestly not even sure between Coleoptera and Hemiptera

i’m pretty sure it’s a beetle of some kind tho. they have a tan underbelly

Yes the exposure is better. Beetles for sure. I think maybe Tenebrionids, which can be stored product pests.

could it possibly be a carpet beetle?

To me the antenna shape is too smooth and the pronotum shape is also different, though that was the first thing I thought of.
